(Picture This Vol 4) Strategies and Tactics to Curb the Fossil Fuel Industry
Is a picture worth a thousand words? tell me!
It was a joy to draw this for my friend Cathy Rogers, one of the authors of the serious but also hopeful report by the Social Change Lab.
The Social Change Lab conducts empirical research on protest and people-powered movements.
As someone who has built a career on bemoaning values-driven approaches that are worthy but ineffective, this is really important work.
The pic is a ready reckoner for the detailed analysis. Please read the report and then trace your finger over the picture.
This one is a direct descendant of this system picture of Bangladesh revenue. Purists will note that my approach to representing systems is pretty flexible... or even not very systematic.
Does a picture float your boat? Graphics are not for all - for every person telling me that they love a particular picture, there is usually another staring blankly into space, asking about the detailed report, or actively complaining that the picture is ‘way too busy’.
This is fine - just human nature1.
For example, I understand that some people in the world listen to Coldplay.
